Actually, it came about because I had an infant myself and they were looking for babes to model their super comfy and easy to use baby wraps. Then, they needed a second session and I became the photographer!

Sorry folks for the long absence!

Life happened...

We welcomed a new addition to our family in December.

We love our little guy! Isn't he so adorable?

In the meantime, I recently jumped back behind the camera. I've done a couple of shoots in the last few days. One for one of my favorite families and one for a new and upcoming baby wrap business.

Craig-Kempton Wedding

OK, the long awaited wedding photos are finally finished! Hooray! Thanks to the newly-weds for being so patient with me in getting these edited and to them - there were A LOT to go through and picking favorites are always hard to do!

As this was my first 'real' wedding shoot, I learned TONS about wedding photography. Thanks for being my test subjects!

These two were troopers! Their wedding happened to take place during the big heat wave in Washington. They had a few obstacles to overcome in the way of no A/C in the building that day, besides the regular things that don't go as planned on your big day. I think they pulled it off beautifully! And, I think the photos were definitely worth the wait!

ARG! Washington weather is such a fun thing to try to guess! I am postponing my one-day-only Spring Photo session until early May (hey, it'll still be Spring!).

May 2nd to be exact! Sessions are 30 minutes each, 5 person group limit! If you need arrangements for a larger group session, please contact me.

Session fees are $20 and inlcude 2-3 edits and a $5 print credit.

The Coleman Family had been waiting for our crazy weather to clear up for family photos and we had a good day earlier this month. I had a TON of fun with these guys! I'm so excited for my next external flash and diffuser to come! It's been ordered and should arrive sometime next week. When my old camera died and I got the new one, I found that some of my 'gadgets' weren't compatible. Thus, part of the reason for my photography hiatus.

We had an awesome afternoon with nice sun for the Trawicks! They were great to work with - and they do have a special place in my heart. I've known them for quite a long time!

My Camera BROKE!

Yep, you read that right folks! Actually, it had been wimping out on me for a few months now. However, the last straw was during the Adam's family photo session - it actually QUIT working for a few minutes. So, I took it back to the store and upgraded to a more professional workhorse - the Cannon 50D. All I can say is 'Oh yeah, baby!'. I am looking forward to my next photo shoots with GREAT anticipation!

Newborn Photography

I am so excited for my upcoming Newborn Photo shoots! I've got 2 babies who were born recently waiting in the wings to have their first professional photo session. Of course, I've been perusing the Internet for new ideas to try out.

Just some notes about your Newborn Photography Session(in case you were wondering!):

*Newborn sessions should be scheduled within the first three weeks. Newborns are best dressed in solid color sleepers/onesies (white is preferred/textured fabric is fine). Little hats or bows are great and cloth diapers with decorative pins are a nice touch. Special outfits, blankets, or stuffed animals can be added.

*Of course, Mom and Dad (and siblings)- you should be prepared to take part in your newest bundle of joy's session! Again, solid colors are best.

*Ideas for poses of your newborn are welcome!

*And last, but not least, I do come to your home.

I look forward to capturing those moments with your newborn!

I've been working on some new photography techniques and gleaning tons on information from lots of different sources and I am ready to try them out!

I am currently taking appointments for a STEAL of a DEAL on Fall portraits (weather permitting, of course!). This deal lasts only until the end of the month (October 31, 2008).

Here's what you get for $30:

*up to 1 (one) hour of photography at your choice of location
(in the greater Olympia area)
*CD of all your pictures which you can use to order your own prints
*your choice of 5 photos for computer editing
*up to 2 'artistic' edits of your choice (i.e. airbrush effect, colored pencil effect)

As you can see by the previous post, there are lots and LOTS of photos to go through from this event! I'm not even approaching the half-way point! Then, to add them to the blog - 5 photos at a time is taking FOREEEEVER! (Think the movie "The Sandlot".)

Relief Society Triathlon 2008 - Swim Leg

Starting with the most current event, here are pictures from the Swim Leg of the triathlon! A special thanks to those of you who took pictures from other vantage points (and covered areas where I couldn't be two places at one time) and shared with me!

It started out to be a very cloudy and foggy morning, but by the time all the swimmers were out of the lake, the sun did finally come out from hiding!
